Sustainable Water Resources Management Assessment Frameworks (SWRM-AF) for Arid and Semi-Arid Regions: A Systematic Review

چکیده
Sustainable water resources management assessment frameworks (SWRM-AF) with associated indicators and benchmarks have appeared widely during the last decades to improve or maintain resources. Examination evaluation of their appropriateness refinement for particular arid semi-arid regions is a relatively unexplored area. To fill this gap in knowledge, systematic review relevant 21st century studies identified within two extensive databases, Scopus Engineering Village, grey literature, undertaken study. Therein, 17 are thoroughly explored identify focus, application, framework construction. The results comparative analysis among these show that average numbers components 4.5 17.6, respectively. Meanwhile, categorical rescaling (47.1%), equal weighting arithmetic technique (82.35%), local scale (52.8%), interval final index value [0–100] (41.2%) most commonly used normalization methods elements. paper concludes none existing tools reviewed 100% applicable regions, therefore case made developing new bespoke SWRM-AF. outcomes provide some useful insights into what should be included therein (e.g., stakeholder engagement specific fit context).

Climate risk management for water in semi–arid regions
Background: New sources of hydroclimate information based on forecast models and observational data have the potential to greatly improve the management of water resources in semi-arid regions prone to drought. Better management of climate-related risks and opportunities requires both new methods to develop forecasts of drought indicators and river flow, as well as better strategies to incorpor...

متن کاملConceptual and numerical models of the evolution of pedogenic carbonates in soils of arid and semi-arid regions: A review
Introduction Calcareous soils are widely distributed in arid and semi-arid regions of the world and the presence of carbonates in the soils affects both physicochemical properties and the pedogenic evolution. In addition, soil carbon plays a critical role in the global carbon cycle, and pedogenic carbonates are an important sink for atmospheric carbon. Pedogenic carbonates are also the proxy o...
